Ferris Bueller's Day Off

The story is semi-revealed, as the audience is told it will be about a teenager faking an illness to skip school. The camera shots consist of wide-shots, mid-shots, and primarily close-ups. There is very little editing except for skipping from shot to shot, and the sound is equal among all cast members. Only the starring cast's names are revealed. The film made $70.1 million from a $5.8 million budget. It was nominated for two awards, one of which it won.

The beginning shows is a static picture of a[] diner, from the 1950s era. In front of the diner, there is a bright yellow text showing the actors, directors, and other employed people. The frame switches to a long shot, consisting of 50s cars, and the first two minutes ends with the cars coming to a stop. There is era music playing, Rock Around the Clock. The movie is comprised largely of long shots, and there are a lot of monologues between the characters. There is dark lighting in most of the shots, showing how the entire movie takes place over the course of one night.

Films and movies are a topic that I can use for my AICE Media Studies Project. I have created a few short films before, so I have at least a little experience. In class we have been taught camera angles along with other filming procedures, which I can employ to create a good movie. In Media Studies class, we have watched an assortment of films, ranging from fiction, like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, to nonfiction, All the President's Men, and I have gathered many ideas for a movie in between.
